help transporting 2 colts

As most of you know i've been searching for a long time for a buckskin stallion well i found 2 golden buckskin colts. I fell in love with the pictures of them and i thought i'd buy both and keep the better of the two when they are mature. Course who knows by then i may just keep both. Would be an awesome driving team. Big problem is I'm in North Fla and the colts are in North Dakota!!!!

I was thinking that maybe i could check into flying them on a plane to florida. would be faster transport there fore less stress on the boys. I cant drive to Dakotas and back by my self way too far and way too expensive. I'm pretty sure that putting them on a trailer would be very expensive most companies charge like 2 per mile. At 2000+ miles that would be nuts. I'd have more into transport than in purchase price. I also thought about shipping viva Train. It would take longer than a plane but maybe cheaper??

I've never bought any horses from another state and never been over the state line with a horse. So i'm Clueless on the whole thing. They will be weanlings in Sept.

Any info would greatly be appreciated. I will just cry if it turns out to be unattainable.

theres a shipper that we used that in mn he picked up Joe for us.. He is on the east coast all the time.. They get a nice box stall and food and water all the time. Plus he checks on the horses all the time and plays with them..

Any idea What the prices may run per mile??

Theres a chance that i can get the hauler to meet a friend in another state and then they can finish the journey making it somewhat cheaper.

My concern would be moving to Fla in the summer time.

Oh they wouldnt be leaving ND till Sept. They will be working on getting their wollies for winter by then but i would probably body clip them if they looked like mamoths If they didnt have too much hair i'd just do the heads and necks. I know round here doesnt really get cold at night till november.

I just got quotes and it was more like 1.50 on UP.
2 horses will get you a discount on the second one though.
Just keep hitting the internet.

Yeah, with the prices of gas and airlines tanking left and right it isn't going to be cheap.

I'd try to wheel and deal with a transporter or see if someone can drive them halfway. Craigslist it. :-P

your best bet is to find a tranporter already going that way. lil beginnings has a transport board where you can post what you need so all the haulers see it and send you bids.

Here's a thought, you fly out, rent a van and drive them back.

When you decide witch of the two you don't want you can send the other one my way.

Here is the shipper that we used.. I highly recommend him, he did an awesome job for us and I will defently use him again..
He was recommended to be by a friend and I couldn't have been more happy..

I tried using USship but I didn't like the prices and the people also had some negative feed back..
