tragedy strikes again...could use some prayers

It all started Saturday. The weather was nice and hot.My mares were tired of being stuck in their stall. So I put Monty in his corral. We took panels from my round pen to make Monty his own little corral for when I needed to confine him. (After he jumped on my son I decided we needed to confine him at times.)

Well Saturday was one of those times. I decided to keep him there when I let the girls out. They haven't been out of the barn in a month or more.

It was so nice I decided not to put them back last night. When I looked out the window this morning it was raining. I said to self they could use a good bath and I could use a few z's So when I went upstairs to shut off my alarm clock I just crawled back in bed. Two hours sleep just ain't enough. About an hour later the puppies were barking so I got up to put them out.

Someone was pulling out of my driveway. Huh! Wonder what they wanted. So I put on my coat and take the puppies out into the pouring rain to go potty. I see the car had stopped in front of my pasture. That's odd. So I walk down that way to see what they are looking at. Thoughts of my goats loose are going through my head.

To my HORROR There is Monty hanging by a hoof from the top of the panels. I rushed to his aid. His fight is gone and he's moaning. The good samaritan gets out of her car and comes rushing to help me. She said she banged on my door but when I didn't come she called 911. I told her I didn't hear her and if she hadn't stopped in front of my pasture I never would have found him. He was stuck fast between the two panels. So I flagged down another passer buy. This time it was two men. With their help we were able to free him.

Now I pray he hasn't done serious damage to his hoof and leg. Who knows how long he was hanging there before someone stopped. I'm just so thankful for the help. I never would have been able to free him on my own.

Please say a prayer for my little guy. I know he's been bad but not so bad that he deserves this.

Oh no, poor little guy. Have you had the vet out to look at him? I hope he has a good prognosis, and will soon be up to his mischief again!

Farmergal, How is he doing. The panels are great but can be dangerous.
I had a QH mare hung up with her hock between the panels between the pins
her friend an arab was standing near her telling her to be quiet. we had to dismantle the whole pen, thankfully she was ok.

Just think positive. he will be fine, he will be fine.
Hugs to you for what you are going thru
