Not sure if he's a mini or what!? (pic heavy)

I just got this guy. His name is Flurry and he's as sweet as they come! The first two pics are from previous owner and the other are my pics of him fuzzy. She gave him to me. Didn't have a lot of info. He's really small. I didn't stick him yet. He's not registered and I have little knowledge of the small ones. HELP!

Belgian 16 hands Pony just under 14 hands and Flurry.

In the first two pics he looks like a mini, but the other two he looks like a pony. Is there any way you can measure him??

I'll measure him tomorrow. I'm in my PJ's, not like that usually stops me from going out to the barn, but it's 5 degrees right now! Brr.
Is it just height requirements to be considered a mini?

Nothing was wrong, she just didn't want to deal with trying to sell him and her h/b said she couldn't get another horse with already having three. I almost sold him but I am totally in love with him! He is amazing! I go in his stall when he's done eating his dinner and he looks up at me and starts sniffing so I squat down and he smells me all over then gets his face right up to mine and wants to exchange air, so we exchange air for forever and then he does the thing with his top lip where he moves it back and forth on my face and hair. He lets me stroke the sides of his face simultaneously and almost falls asleep. He is so dang lovable!! He's so easy to lead, halter, picks his feet up great, can be touched all over. He's so trusting. We just clicked! I don't know what I'm going to do with him yet b/c I just got Belle (the bigger pony) for my 5 yo in hopes of ponying him on her from my Belgian. Now he says he wants Flurry and I asked him what we would do with Belle and he said, 'Well, we could sell her'. lol I only paid $150 for Belle and she's broke to ride and drive! I really, really like her though and I think Belle's coloring is a bit unusual. Here she is..

If he's 38" or under at the last hair of his main you could technically I guess call him a mini but he can't be registered. AMHR once had hardshipping and they just had to be at 38" or under but they don't do it that way anymore.
One thing to remember is that your 5 year old will outgrow him faster than the larger pony. That being said, you can have him trained to drive and everyone can use him as they can pull about 3 times their body weight.

How cute. now you have 3 sizes. How about a little side business of doing kids birthday parties. or perhaps take the little guy to schools and nursing homes?

Belle is a cutie. How many hands is she? Did you measure Flurry yet?

With his size comparison to the other horses, he looks like a shetland pony to me. He is a real cutie and would be great for your 5 year old to learn on. Hope you have fun with him cause I know I do with my miniatures.

I measured Flurry today. He's 9.2 hands and Belle I have not measured yet b/c she was being a butt when I brought her in the barn for trimming bridle paths (plus I roach her mane). She apparently didn't like the Pink Oil Moisturizing spray I used for her mane, tail and forelock. I think she's between 13 and 14 hands high but I'll check in a little bit. I have the measurer by the door so when I go out to feed dinner, I'll take it with me. I think I'm allergic to the Pink Oil spray b/c I've been sneezing uncontrollably since using it this a.m.! Ugh!
