I measured Belle at dinner time. She is 13.2 hands high. I guess I'm not too bad at 'eyeballing'!! That's kinda neat.
Thanks for all the nice comments about Flurry. He's a sweetheart. Looks like I have another easy keeper too! I wonder how that's going to work out this summer when they're on pasture. I'm probably going to have a sacrifice lot for the fatties so I can control their grazing. I don't want a bunch of foundered horses!

He has such a similar size & build to mine. Our vet thinks he is a mini/shetland cross. Just a thought...

He is SO cute!

He looks like a mini to me also = very, very cute! And yes you will have to watch him as far as what he is allowed to eat. I have a mini that I let get too fat and so I now have to keep him in the roundpen all day by himself with nothing to eat and put him in with the big horses at night with lots of hay. I feel mean doing that but he is now alot healthier size and I don't want him to flounder or colic so I have to be the mean one

Not to be graphic but if you check the anus it will be very small on a mini but larger on a pony even of the same height. Their poops will be smaller from a mini than a pony of the same height also. My vet can do an internal on my pony mare but not my minis of same height for that reason. I have both class A and B minis and I just sold my last pony.

I'll check him when I go out to feed later. Does that mean they take a different size thermometer as well?

Same size thermometer because the ends are very small on them. Well mine is anyways. lol
The poops will stand out from the horse poops that you will find in the field. They will be noticeably smaller and a slightly diferent shape. I think I better stop talking about poops now, it's making me sound like a pervert.

His manure is tiny.
I bought a mini show halter for him. It's so cute! I can't wait to show him at some fun shows!

What a cutie pie!!! I hope I get lucky enough someday to get a freebie like him. Have you thought about cart training, as someone mentioned?? I know a couple of people who trained their minis to pull carts, and they all looked so cute in the local parades.
