How to guess size

I just love the babies BUT.......How big can I expect them to get? They are closely related but growing at really different speeds. The now 6 month old filly has grown 3 1/2 inches in 2 1/2 months and is 30 1/2" tall. Do you think she might go oversize? Parents are 31 and 32 inches.

The colt is 5 month old now and has grown 2 1/2 inches in the same time. He is 27 1/2 inches now. Parents are 29 " and 32 ".

They both get grass hay, a little Purina Junior and, or course, a mineral salt block. They are well fed and maybe pudgy. ( We are trying to watch that.)
Babies are so fun, especially when they try to teeth on me!! We had a couple of correction moments when I was nipped on the tush by one when I was brushing the other!

thanks for the help

Most miniatures will get most of their growth the first year and then slow down. Thats why its so important to feed them well that first year. I would not worry about either one going over. One of our first minis born here was 31" at a year. All my friends said she was going over by age 5 she was a firm 32"

There is a growth chart somewhere on line but I dont use them much

Many bloodlines are known for maturing quickly and others slowly. Kinda have to look over the pedigree.

Yes, thanks. I will cross my fingers and hope the filly just got her growth early. Too cute to give up anyway!
