Thank you all so much! Really made my morning getting on and reading this.

The mare is a 5 year old broodmare and has had 1 foal. People at Congress thought she was like a 2 year old LOL.

I think a huge part of keeping them fit is what you are feeding. Ours are fed alfalfa hay and complete or pelleted grain, never sweet feed. This is all of our horses not just show horses. Im a huge stickler for never letting any of them get heavy as that can be disaster for a miniature. The horses that dont show also graze on pasture for about 5 hrs per day.

Show horses are worked about 3-4 days per week. I do not believe in working them everyday like some do. I think that is too much stress on them. We do work in the round pen and then some outside work going up and down hill to build chest muscles and tuck up tummies.

Im very careful though with yearlings like the stallion above as you dont want to stress their joints when they are so young. I think yearlings are the easiest to fit because if you let them out to play most will condition themselves just playing with other horses

Both of these were measured by a steward at congress. Dale was 35" and Meadow was 37.50 (mini measurement not pony as ponies are measured to the wither)

My mistake though as Dale cant hardship until hes 3 I doubt though he will go over 38"

I think they look taller number one because these are pro pictures and two because of the leg to body ratio. When people come here they always say "wow they are so much smaller then they look in their pictures. Also I am only 5 foot tall so that gives you some reference LOL. Yep Im short so I make my horses look tall
