Together Again.....

I can hardly contain my excitement...........A little history.....When I was 9 years old, my parents bought me a pony. She was a pistol, she was 6 yrs. old. We asked them her name, and they said, "You do not want to know what we call her!!" SO....I picked out the name, Sadie Mae. Long story short, she was my best friend for over 12 years...........When I was 22, married and with 1 child...living in the city....My parents decided to move from their acerage. We couldn't afford to board Sadie, and so we had to make the very hard decision to sell her. We found a family, they were friends, of some friends we did 4-H with.......They had a 9 year old, daughter that they were looking for a pony for......So they bought her. This was almost 8 years ago......We have kept in touch......We always go and watch her show Sadie at the 4-H county fair. Well, The little girl is now 17....and with being a Senior in highschool with a job and whatnot, doesn't ride as much as she used to. SO....They offered her back to us. YEAH!!! We got her Saturday morning...Excitement is an understatement. The other girl still wants to use her next year in the county fair, which is fine with us..Get this, this year (o8/09) is her last year of 4-H....and the next year (09/10) will be my oldest son's first year in 4-H....How cool is that how it worked out that way......Anyway, My Sadie Mae is now 25 years old, and still going strong...I am hoping she goes another 10 years...She is in great health..... That is what I have looked like the last several days........So, I have some pictures....

Here is a picture of her and I in December 1991.....17 years ago....

Here is a picture of me riding her in the spring of 1992....

Here is her and I in my senior pictures taken in August of 1996....... 12 years ago....

and now, here are some pics from today, of her and my sons.......... This is like a full circle moment in life for me.....As my son will be 9 this December and that is how old I was when I got her. She was my 2nd pony, but his 1st.....I just cannot even explain how I feel to have her back. I also have to mention that my son is on cloud 9. His name is Christopher and he is alrady in love with her!!! He is calling her, "my baby girl"......and is just ecstatic about her!!!! Also, I couldn't of hand picked a better home for her when I had to sell....They were awesome to her, and she to them........And now to have her back...Like I said...

Thanks for taking the time to read about my excitement........

She looks very good for her age. She is definitely going to make your son one happy boy! Love stories like this when you re-unite with a horse you had years ago!!

Fabulous tale!! And everyone looks soooooooooooooo happy!

I had to giggle when I saw you are from Iowa, and then the pics with all the corn in the background........I always associate Iowa with growing corn, so it just tickled my funny bone.

Your son and Sadie sure look like a great team!

That story IS fantastic, especially when one hears all of the other stories with less than happy endings I'm so very happy for you and no less for those 'friends of friends' and Sadie herself! What a wonderful thing for Christopher to inherit. Sadie and Christopher look like fast friends, don't they?

You better keep sharing those stories and pictures with us you know!

What a beautiful story. It brought tears to my eyes as it was so beautiful. I love to hear happy endings. The picture of your son hugging Sadie Mae was awesome, I would have it framed.

Wow, beautiful story!
Congrats on re-owning your pony! What a feeling it must be to have her back again after so many years.
She looks like a real doll.

Cheers to many years with Sadie, you, and your son!
