Talking Haflinger photos!

Took some photos of Toby after his bath yesterday. Unfortunately my blue shampoo got cracked and leaked out somehow since last time I used it, and that stuff was the only thing I could find that got Toby's mane and tail really white. But they are better than they were, so here are the photos.

He is SO adorable!

How tall is he? I really am hoping by next Spring I can get some weight off mine and he might look and feel a little better. Toby looks great!

Is he pretty well trained?

Depend what you mean by "well trained". LOL. He is a pretty reliable trail mount. I can really see where he has mentally matured this year, but he has not been trained to drive or do dressage or anything like that. But he is responsive to the seat and in the arena I have worked on riding him bridleless, which he did really well with as long as there were no distractions around.

That is what I meant. I know no other 'well trained". These haffies are addictive!

Thanks everyone!

Prancingpony - thanks, I think he has done a surprising amount of maturing this year. I'm extremely pleased!

Country-mare - LOL, yes, you might have to rethink that if your original plans didn't include a golden beauty.

Vickie - yes, haflingers are addictive. I really want another some day. I've gone 6 years with just one, eventually I will have to get a 2nd!

Toby is adorable
my first experience with a haffie's has been a wonderful one!
My daughter has been taking lessons on one named "CHunkie Peanut Butter" for over a year and he has been a wonderful confidence builder for her.

He is a handsome boy! That is what I am looking for, but apparently they are hard to find at a decent price.
Alot of amish around here have them, guess I will have to wait till next spring for mine when it is auction time again.

pp - I sure am proud of him! Yes, he has grown up on that list, hasn't he?

Horselessnomore - you could always get one shipped...

He is such a handsome boy.. and after your experience with Toby, and our being around Buttercup - ( who I do believe is half a halfie) - I really would not mind having one to ride all the time.. especially one as good looking as he is..

You better be careful Gbar! My vet was a QH breeder and all I heard was QHs this and QHs that. Then he started working with Toby and shortly after that he got another customer with haflingers. Well he now has a team of his own and is talking about completely getting out of QHs. LOL.
