My new baby!

Well, I consider him still a baby. Meet Cisco... He's a 15 month old AQHA colt and just as sweet as can be. He arrived home to my house last night.

Cisco just got out of the trailer in this pic. Not bad for being worked with less than three weeks!

This is Cisco and me (right) with my friend Melinda and her boy Maverick (left). She's owned him since he was 4 months old. Hopefully you will see more of Maverick as I have invited Melinda to join HT!

I know these pictures aren't the best, but I thought I would share them anyways. New and better pics to follow as Cisco grows up to be a big boy. His registered name is Rebels Peppy Hancock, and his lines are on AllBreeds.

Oh he is gorgeous! I love his coloring.

Your friend Melinda also has a flashy boy, also! You two will look good riding together

He's handsome (and so is Maverick)! It's hard to tell from the pictures, what color is Cisco??? He looks almost like a dun roan? If so, very flashy !

That's a very good question...
He's registered as a dun. He has the tiger striped legs and dorsal stripe, but his body does have a lot of roan in it. Plus is head is darker than the rest of his body. It's a mystery to me.

His sire is a grullo and his dam is a red roan.

Well then I'd guess dun roan (or would you say roan dun?! ) is most likely correct - that's pretty rare, you lucky girl . If the plan is to keep him until he grows up, you will have one flashy and unique riding horse! I think he's a keeper, but if you ever do decide to sell, can't see you having any troubles there

Jen, Leona at Diamond Y had a filly last year that was grulla and blue roan. Maybe that's a possibility too, grulla/roan? I'm bad with colors, but he's very handsome!

Congrats!

DY, I hope this is okay to post. Here is the thread with her pic in it. Does that look anything like your guy?

More baby pictures!

I think he's difinately a dun with roan. I guess time will tell for sure. Everybody that has came out to see him thinks his color is unusual.

Thanks guys for the comments on Cisco. He's got a personality to boot. I am headed to the farm with my camera in hand. Maybe I can get some better shots.

Thank you so much! He's still "all boy" right now. I would love to keep him a stud, but I don't know what I would do with him. Cisco will be trained to be an all-around ranch horse. I want him for team penning and playdays, and soon-to-be hubby will train him for roping. By the time he's broke and trained, my riding skills should be good enough to handle a fast athletic horse.

Maverick is a wonderful 2 year old. He was been handled since birth. He's got a great personality. Both Cisco and Maverick are Hancock bred.

Thats cool!! I am going to trail my boy on barrels/poles and roping. I am keeping mine a stud until I get maybe 4-5 foals outta him and then i will probally geld him. Depends on how is foals turn out as to how soon he is cut. But he is 15 months at the moment so he wont be ready to actually start training to ride until the end of next summer early fall.. he is a quick learner already. I have heard all good things from Hancock breeding so whatever job you train him for both him and maverick should excell! My colt is Skipper W bred
