Mom & Baby Update - Lots of Pics

Many of you will remember our drama from May when one of the mares at the barn where I board delivered twins and almost died. She was bought from a man (although I use that term loosely) who bred her and stuck her in a field. She was severly malnourished to say the least. The first twin survived, through bottle feeding for the first three days - mom was down over 24hrs. I thought I would post some pics now that the baby is weaned. It is just amazing the before and afters.

Before:

After:

Please excuse the fuzzys

I rode Missy the other day and I know for a fact she hadn't been ridden in well over a year, and she was awesome!! She's a great TWH - she was 5th as a 2yr old and 9th as a 3yr old at the Celebration. Her baby looks to have some promise himself. I'm just so thankful that they are both doing so well!!

Oh, and here's one of me and my ugly old man . He's doing soooo awesome, I just can't believe it!

The weather this weekend is just splendid!!

They look great! I bet that mare thinks she died and went to heaven. Her baby is beautiful too. I have never ridden a TW but grew up wanting one so bad. They always seemed so regal to me.

I just don't understand WHY do people starve their animals? I guess that is one of the great mysteries of the universe. But, Thank God there are peopel like you to take them in and give them some much deserved TLC.

What a difference! I can't believe anyone would allow their horses to get like that first pic. Glad she found a loving home.
