New Zippy picture

Just wanted to share an updated picture of Zippy. I took it today. See I told you I made him a new rope halter. He's a little mad with me for not telling you guys that yesterday was his birthday. He was spoiled rotten yesterday, between the treats and the hard work of grooming him to get him all nice and shiney. And naturally it has been raining so he is filthy again.

Not me, I wish you were closer - he is a nice colt and the momma should have another one just like that next year!!!! But thanks for the compliments!!! (actually I think you are only about 10 hours from us - my folks have a place down there near West Palm and we visited last year - so be careful - we might be able to work something out - hee hee )

I dont need another horse, I dont need another horse, especially not a colt! Is it working??

West Palm is about 4 hours away from me. Do you have better pictures of the mare? I like the colt too, but really dont need another colt right now.

Wait, I dont need another horse either!

Nah, it really doesnt. Look at all of us. If we really listened to ourselves, we wouldnt have horses in the first place! How easily 1 becomes 2, and 2 becomes 4...

Maybe after I place my TB gelding, Pilgrim, in a new, CARING home unlike last time, I can sqeeze in a mare. I do need a good sturdy one to knock some sense into Zippy sometimes.

I agree - that is why we have so many - Cricket is a good mare - needs to be in a pasture board situation as she hates being stalled - but will teach a stallion some manners!!! and since she is already in foal for 2007, she has no tolerance for any Hanky Panky this year!!! She caught poor Dexter a time or two before he was gelded after she settled, and it was really funny to watch - she would just wait until he got close, pin back her ears, kick him once, and then go right back to eating....wish I had a camera for the expression on his face Priceless!!!!

Today Zippy and I had a little lesson on how to behave yourself while the new mare in season, across the street, is hollering for ya. He's FINALLY figured out what is supposed to happen when a mare is in. Took just a split second to get his attention back on me and to ignore the mare though. He responds to well in his rope halter!

He's getting so big!!! Did he just turn one or two? He looks like a 2yo, but I didn't think he was that old.

You think so? I always thought he was small. Of course, when Ive been hanging around my 16.3h TB alot, everything looks tiny!

He's about 14.1h at his withers, his butt is a tad higher. His sire is 15.1h and his dam is 15h, so he should be around that height when he's done, hopefully. Make it to 15h Zippy and I'll be happy. I'll be even happier if you make it to 15.2h. Ok ok, so I dont really like short horses. At least when I go to ride him it isnt far to fall.

"Zippy" is an OK name, but I prefer his Indian name - "Spots on Muscle"...
