Many years ago we went to the local fair with our daughter. One of the fun things back then was to go over to the stables and see the horses the 4H kids had brought to show. We were talking about what breed would make a good first horse for our daughter and a young girl walking her Welsh pony overheard us and she came over to add her 2 cents. When she was done we had decided that we would rather look for a welsh over the shetland that we hand in mind to get. Sadly we never got our daughter a pony, long story.

Then a few months ago I decided to buy a pony for the grandchildren. Something we could all enjoy. They love my minis but to be honest they aren't ride-able, not for me that is.

I looked for a Welsh but could not afford the ones I found for sale. In my search I found a breed of pony that is new to me. I had never heard of a POA. A deal landed in my lap that I couldn't say no to. So now I'm the proud owner of a 4 month old POA filly.
Can anyone tell me your thoughts on the breed? I was told she will mature to 13h.
My son was very upset with me for not buying a "ride able" horse so it took him a week to go to the barn to see my gal. He came to me yesterday all excited telling me that he fed her and petted her saying he loves my new purchase and he can not wait for her to be old enough to ride.
This is windys galaxy "gal" the night we brought her home.
