Meet the Mini's *PIC HEAVY*

While these are technically not MY mini's persay (they are actually my moms) I love them to death and help my mom with them a lot.

First is Sammy. He is an 11 year old gelding. We got him as a Christmas present for my mom 2 years ago after she had been wanting a mini very badly. Plus we needed a pal for a our Arab, Smokey (RIP). He is trained to ride and drive but we have done niether with him. We are working on getting a cart or building one ourselves.
He is the sweetest little booger but so incredibly spunky. He has never offered to kick or bite. He hates the dogs, doesn't share well with others, and has the CUTEST little prance I have ever seen. When he is on a lead, he prances practically the whole time but is always a good boy and does it next to you. He is extremely curious about everything and will do whatever you ask of him.
I love his winter woolies!

Next is Candy (aka momma bean). We rescued her earlier this March. She was underweight, needed wormer, and her hooves desperately needed to be trimmed. She is about 12 years old and is just the sweetest, calmest little thing. She is very shy but once she trusts you, she loves ya. She is extremely lazy (I have never seen her run), stubborn (that's an appy for ya), slow, and extremely large...roundwise. I have had two vets look at her, and they both say it's just her. She was a broodmare that was constantly in with a stallion. Now her stomach is ginormous. The vets say not to worry about it, but we are still trying to see if we can cut it down a bit. My dad says she looks homely, but she is just so sweet, you can't help but love her
When she was still preggers and losing her winter woolies.

I can't find many pictures of her....hmm...they must be on my other computer. I will post more if I find some!

And finally...Stewie...I have never, ever met a horse like Stewie. He is the naughtiest, spunkiest, most stubborn little horse that I have EVER met. We got him because SURPRISE! Candy is pregnant...he is 6 months old this month and has drastically changed colors over time. He just got gelded because he was such a little pill. He had a bad biting problem but we have stopped that now. He is still learning his manners and needs a refresher course everyday it seems because we may have forgotten apparently. He loves to play chase with the dogs and just plain run.

Few days old

Stewie and Lena, one of his many girlfriends

Run, Stewie, Run!

They are all just as cute as can be...I love them! I have wanted a mini for years, but for some reason, I have yet to get one. They are adorable! I guess I've always been scared that my "big" gang might get to them and hurt them, but the little things seem pretty darn tough!

I don't know if you are referring to this or not, but the reason we named him Stewie is because of the show Family Guy. The baby always is trying to take over the world, mean to everyone around him, and tries to kill his mother throughout the whole show...that is Stewie to a T.

Brownie- They are incredibly tough. You would be shocked. Not only do they live off of air, but our mini's don't need their hooves trimmed near as often. I don't know if this is the same for everyone or not, but ours definitely can go longer than a bigger horse in between trims. You should probably get at least one...if not two...or three....

Horselady- Oh I wish...Stella and Lena have the little TB manes and tails, thin and scraggly. Oh well, I still love them

Very, very cute.

And there are horses with pony plentiful manes. They are known as Haflingers. And truth be told, sometimes I could do with a little less mane.....
