I am going to be dating myself with this one. How about Cisco from the old Cisco Kid cowboy show....it was back there with Roy Rogers . Your Wow handsome boy reminded me of that show and his horse Diablo.

I love everybodys name ideas so far. But I still haven't decided on a name yet. We have had him for like 3 weeks and he is still being called "he", "that horse", lol. Just bumping this back up to see if anybody else can think of some other ones. Thanks in advance.

I had bo't a very nice Shetland mare and had to come up with a name. It took a few months but one day while lazing about on a hot day, a name came to me that suited her perfectly. There are no rules on how long it takes to name your horse. Most of the animals I own respond to C'mon.

Slim Pikken, that is the truth. All of our guys come by C'mon too. . I will defiantly take your advice and give it some time and see if something comes to us, you are right there is defiantly no rush to it. We have actually been thinking about using his old name "Amigo" but are not too sure. We are going to try to use it the next couple of days and see if he likes it. We have been taking everybodys suggested names and using them to see if they fit, there are defiantly a couple we are considering. Thanks again everybody and I will update once we have found something and of course if anybody has anymore suggestions, please post them.

I've always heard it's bad luck to change a horses barn name but I like Apache. It came to mind when the pic came up.

There's a horse at the barn I work at that looks IDENTICAL to your boy. His name is Copenhagen, we call him Cope or Copers.

It took some good looking at the pictures posted to come up with something different...so for all its worth, here are my suggestions in priority order

#1-Orion...the three spots on his nose are identical to the placement of the stars on the constellation "Orion",as in Orion's belt.

#2-Sitka..named for the frontier spruce tree...it has a cool ring to it.

#3-Coyote...again frontier-sounding...and I always thought it'd be cool conundrum to have a horse named Coyote....

#4-Acoya...was the name of a character in a book series called "She Who Remembers" who became a powerful and peaceful shaman.

#5-Kokopelli...also a Native American historical figure, check out his legend!

ANyhoo, I know they're a bit off the beaten path, but I hope you like them!
