Mine like french fries, graham crackers, bread, all kinds of candy and that's just a few things they'll eat.

Some things ya'll might try that horses like

Watermellon rinds, especially if there is any red or pink left on them at all.

The gooey, seedy inards of squashes, honeydew mellons, cantalopes and pumpkins (they actually seem to prefer this part over the parts that people eat, and will get pushy for it if they are sharing whole fruits with other horses) of course, you will be growing those in your pasture next year.

Corn cobs and husks. You eat the corn, your horse will love the rest.

I've heard Captain Crunch called "horse crack" Even the generic store brand will do.

Popcorn. Salted, unsalted, with butter flavor, cheese, caramel, molases or dry. Share a popcorn ball with your horse, they'll love it.

S'mores. When we are out camping he will get as close to the fire as his line allows and wait impatiently for his turn. I have to toast his marshmellow too!

Stupid question, but how are you all sharing the liquids with the horses?

Wheat thins and cheese-flavored Chex mix! These are items I take in my saddle bags on longer rides and we share when we stop for a break.

This is just too funny!! I am not sure where I got the idea that none of these things were good for our horses. I wonder what my girl would like to wrap her mouth around??? I am gonna have to try some of these things out.

For mine, I emptied a bottle of beer into Dude's beet pulp one day when an old geezer who used to work on the TB tracks told me it was good for them and they would like it. He liked it alright! After that, if he saw an unguarded bottle within reach, he quickly figured out to grasp it in his teeth and tip his head way up, guzzling it down.

He never took the ones with the caps still on them, just the open ones. Horses are smart and figure things out

hahaha see I wasn't sure if like the horses were taking the bottles and doing it themselves, or if it was getting like poured out or what. haha that's great

I jokingly offered my paint mare a french fry one day. I was surprised she took it, then even more surprised when she liked it and wanted more. She was also a Doritos fan, the nachos ones of course. Nutri-grain bars, granola bars.
I was sharing a fruit tray with my horse once, and he started to get greedy just snatching things from me. So i grabbed a green onion and he just snatched it. Took two bites, stopped surprised and spat it out. after that he was a little more careful. Same horse, I was eating a peach, he thought it was an apple and was being greedy again, took a huge bite. Turns out he's not a peach fan but he did think it was quite interesting.

My horses will eat anything that doesn't eat them first. But they all really love watermelon! They go nuts over it and make huge slobbery messes! I always save all my fruit/veggie peelings too, they love all of it! We had a huge overabundance of cucumbers this year in the garden and the horses got all the extras.

My mare would eat up grounds shoes if you gave them to her...she will eat anything except apples and corn. She hates them. She is a bit odd!! The Arab gelding got in the recycyling at the barn and put all the bottles in his mouth tipping them up to get the last drop of each of them. He is also a bit of a weirdo!!

I must have the weirdest horse around. My Morgan mare will NOT even eat horse treats - the ones that smell so good you want to eat them yourselves? Not carrots, apples, etc. She is really one fussy lady. The Haffies, on the other hand, will eat almost anything, including vet wrap and banamine tubes. But you dare not feed it to them once, because that is all it takes....

My previous horse LOVED watermelon. My mare now really loves fudge rounds and salt & vinegar chips. I even had a gelding that shared a ham sandwich with me once
