Kind eyes:)

I always hear people say a horse has a "kind eye". I don't know if I can always recognize that or anything, but I feel like my guy has a kind eye here..all soft and interested

So educate me--bring on some kind eye pictures of your own!!

I do think that your guy has a kind eye. Soft is a good word to describe it...

Here's one of Alaska that I think shows his kind disposition:

My new colt has the calmest eyes I've ever seen. He's also the most easy going and quiet horse, let alone stud colt I've ever been around.

Luvridn, that's a great photo....just simply great.

All the soft eyes, the kindness and light in them...wonderful idea for a thread.

Best-

My boy has soft eyes as well, he's such a ham though we are always laughing at him. He is a sweetie and he loves you as long as you have treats.

this is so re- affirming!!

I bought my oldest son ( then 5) a shetland pony at an auction once. I was young and full of ignorance at the time. Two or three trotted thru and went for more than I wanted to pay... and there was also somethng "off" about them.

When that little dapple grey came trotting in , All shiny with his white mane and tail. It was his eyes that got me. He stopped in the middle of the ring, snorted and just looked around. My heart just melted.

At the end of the sale when I went to the back to pick him up... what a revelation! He was so wild/scared I had to rope him to get near him. He tried to crawl out of the top of the open trailer on the way home! He was terrified of men. once he found kindness, he eventually even let my husband touch him.

It was lightnings kind eye that brought him home with us. He was the most wonderful babysitter in the world. Once you showed him what you wanted, that's what you got. The kids outgrew him and he went to a family with another bunch of small kids to raise.
