Why I should never go to horse sales...

I went to a horse sale last night for the first time since the market really kind of crashed. It was horrible! There werent many horses but the ones that were there were pretty decent. A few pretty well broke horses (grade and papered), a few really well started 2-3 year olds, yearlings, weanlings, and one other thing...Well everything went cheap. Even the dead broke horses. Under $500! Crazy! Well my friend and I were walking through the aisles just browsing to kill time and I come across this adorable little jack! We stopped by his pen and he eventually came over to us. Never offered to bite or do anything bad at all. He was so sweet! My friend crawled into the pen and rubbed alllll over him, picked up his feet, messed with his ears, he was perfect! Well of course I didnt need him and I was sure someone would just die to have this sweet little guy so we went back in and took a seat. Well when the sale was almost over we were putting on our coats because it had began raining really hard and we had decided to leave when the sweet little donkey was ran into the ring. The poor little guy just stood and looked at everything. Well they started the bid at 50 then 40 then 30...then 20...finally someone bid! But it was the meat buyer! I quickly turned around and bid on him. Well that was that! So I bought myself a Jack for $30 and saved him from the meat pen He doesnt have a name yet but since my gelding is a city (Memphis) I would like to name him a city name but nothing seems to fit! Well I know I couldnt get by without showing you guys pictures so here are a couple!

Well I didnt really get a chance to measure him. It was raining again today so it was a mess! But in the second picture the gelding he is standing by is just under 16hh. Ive been letting him settle in and get used to everything so I havent done a whole lot with him. I dont have any idea how old he is or anything! But I will be taking him to the vet when I take my gelding just to make sure everything is ok with him and I will have them look at his teeth for sure! I love the names Keep em coming!

He looks like a Chester to me, but you want a city name...Daytona, (St)Louis, (Little)Rocky, Bemidji, Lex(ington), I like Dallas, too.

Oh he is cute, good for you for bring him home!
Well you could go for a Canadian city and call him Edmonton and call him Eddy for short!
Or because I'm from Calgary, you could call him Calgary and call him Gary!

He's cute! Definitely a city in Tennessee to go with Memphis. I like Nashville and call him Nash. Then, you've got jazz and country.

Very true Mule360! Im having such a hard time naming him! It just seems like nothing fits him at all. Hes such a little guy compared to Jay and Memphis but he is definitely the boss now! He has a big personality and hates mud lol. Which is entertaining since that is all the farm is right now. One big mud hole. I was worried this morning because him and my horse didnt come up to eat this morning. I went to find them and they were just content in the field. Even looked at me like "What are you doing down here?"
