Tomorrow my babies get weaned! I'm so excited... We've been preparing for the last 2 weeks. Each night they come in away from thier Mamas and have thier feed.

Tomorrow is the big change! Here are some recent photos of them...

Pez has a home by the way. I'm really sad to see him go.

He will be leaving in a few weeks. I've been with him since moment one- when he was no more than a hoof coming outta his mama.
He couldn't get a better home though- He gets to go on to be a herd sire!

I'm beginning to rethink this. This is the first time we've weaned this way. Those babies Cried all night. I kept going out there so worried. They are eating and drinking like champs but they are so sad.

We are weaning at four months because Pez's new owner is eager to take him home, they are eating/drinking on thier own, and the Jennys are becoming OBESE from being away from the rest of the herd. Not to mention the jennys seem more aggrevated with them than anything.

Aww, poor babies. I need weaning tips. All other times it was taking the babies away from the herd, and they had no intrest in thier mama.

Oh that is just so sad. It is never easy weaning them from moms let alone from each other. Give em big hugs and kisses.

I checked the mamas this evening and the ninnies were quite small so obviously they haven't been nursing alot.

The babies are taking it much better! They had thier feed and ate it nice and slowly now they are working on thier hay. I went out and sat with them a good while.

I'm gonna miss Pez so much.
