Palpating? Ultrasounding? Any of that possible?

We got our Jenny (thank you, Bandit, for helping us find a seller!)
Buttercup is about 6yo, 12 hands tall, is a previous momma, and was exposed to a spotted jack around January 7th.

But I have questions...
Can a vet palpate a donkey? Can a vet ultrasound a donkey? Or are they too small for the vet to get in there to check? I've heard that they can't check donkeys...

If they can check, when would be the most ideal point in a potential pregnancy to have it done?

If they can't check, does anyone know if there is a blood/urine test a vet can do?

And knowing how badly members need to see pics...
Here's our girl, Buttercup on her first day home:

Buttercup meeting Berry:

And here's the potential daddy:

My vet won't palpitate cos mine are minis. 12 hands might be different.

The blood tests are pricey. My vet quoted me at least $75. My vet doesn't have the equipment to do the ultrasounding at location and we don't have a trailer.

Now, was she breed this year or last? If she was bred last you should know, although there was one case I didn't know the jenny was preggos until I found her in the field with a miniature her by her side! Usually, you can tell though. The donkey we had was subject to various health problems, my neighbor bought her, well, long story. Anyway she was very obese and we had no idea.

How preggers do you suspect she is? The fetus can grow too large to view with U/S but that is how I had my minis done.
If your Doc has very small hands they can sometimes even palp minis.
What about a Wee foal test? it will tell you on the site what stages they work at.
I hope she is

Sorry, she was just bred around January 7th, 2008...
So if she is bred, she's not far at all.

Donks have the same gestation as horses, right?
