I have heard that it is closer to 13 months. I have NO personal expirence with that though.
I have had a donkey carry up to 13 before, and gave birth to a healthy donkey foal so I guess it is possible. Hmm... this is a tricky question. Hope someone knows for sure.

My boss's minis all foaled withing the same time frame as big horses.
But that has nothing to do with donkeys or mules.
