Good news!

I put Rocky (my Mini donk stud) in with the whole herd the other day and everyone is still alive! If you recall last time I tried it he attacked the mini jenny and him and the paint pony went at it like two studs fighting over the herd. He must have just needed more time to adjust... he did chase the jenny a bit but then settled down, the paint he gave a wide berth to and didn't challenge at all. He must have learned his lesson 'cause last time the paint was winning big time.

This relieves my mind! I'm really only set up for one pasture and keeping two was going to be a real pain come winter. They have been in together since Fri... hopefully the peace will last.

That's great to hear. I think most of them just want to get along anyway. At one time I wanted to put my molly mule in with my old gelding. She doesn't seem aggressive in any way so I thought they'd be good buddies. Except every time I tried she would MOUNT him! she wasn't mean but would just bug the heck out of him putting her neck over his back and then jump on up. poor old guy, I don't think he was happy about getting old and then the indignity of being mounted by a molly mule.

I am happy to report that peace has reigned here... I was going nuts on how to get water to both pastures (I had divided the one I have with gates from my round pen) when winter hit. Running a hose that far in freezing/snowy weather wasn't an appealing thought.

He sure didn't like being cut off from "his" herd so maybe he realized he had to act better.

Thats great to hear. It's always better when everyone gets along. I recently tried to combine pens between one of my minis and the goats. Bad idea. Never have I had any problem between goats and donkeys, jacks and jennys a like but this jack decided my little nanny naveed was a hottie.

I'm glad to report all is well now and they are back in thier seperate pens.

Got any pics of your little donks? I'd sure like to see!
