Slater's evening adventure

It was Slater's turn to be worked on tongiht. The little Burro.

Clean all his feet with him calmly standing there.
Got a step up box, brushed him, loved him and got on his back, bareback.
He took it all in stride. Loosened the lead and he started to wander into the barn, so had to jump off.

Then....
opened up the gate to the other side of the property, where none of the donkeys have ever been, except once when they all got out. The "free world"!LOL Slater stood there at the opening not sure if he should go out.
I encouraged him, and finally he took the big step. I led him around on the loose lead, over to the gardens down the road and back. His first time out of the penned corral and 1..5 acre pasture into the 1 acre of woods. He was looking all around, but a little timid. When I put him back in with the others, they all gathered around him.

He walked with a .....He has gone where none of them have gone before.... stride!
Love that little guy. He is so calm!

no pics

I left my camera and flip camera in the house, because I only was going to clean his feet.
Darn, precious moments!

Will bring the camera next time, but tomorrow is Big Adams turns.
He was so fustrated about me working with Slater that after I opened up the corral for everyone again, he came in and rolled and made a big dust storm!
