HT is indeed a one-stop-shop when you need questions answered, no matter the topic! (ps, your gelding is a very handsome boy!)

I have to admit, I love the place. It is the best I have come across so far. Keep up the good work everyone. It is our behavior that makes this such a great place to be, plus those who keep us in line when we stray occassionally

Im still really new here an one thing that kind of frightens me here is it seems to be TOO nice sometimes... I havent really seen an honest debate go on that isnt one sided..
Im just generalizing here not poking fun at anyone...
Reckon its the new member feeling left out or somthing..

I have seen some pretty strong opinios expressed!!
The mods are great at not letting it get personal, and I've learned a lot reading different points of view.

This has been a very supportive site when I've stuggled with problems, funny at times and also an excellent marketing tool when buying or selling horses.

I'd rather be surrounded by a caring and loving bunch. If that makes us too nice-nice, then I'm proud to be a part.

I've seen the "climate" on other boards and personally feel there is no reason on the planet to speak to another person in that manner, much less treat another so poorly, hiding behind cyber-anonymity is no excuse for poor behaviour. I can't imagine some of the things I've read being said to anyone face to face, and if that is the case in real life, I'd sure rather stay here.

I feel the same way. I have seen how the other boards operate - no thank you. There are some of us who still feel that civility and genuine concern for others is not an outdated concept.

This bothered me a bit. Yes, we are nice to each other. It's why we are here, we can hear negative comments at work or home or anywhere in public. Here we feel safe. We post pics of the loves of our lives. I could own and love the butt-ugliest horse on earth, post her pic that I was very proud of, and have my friends here tell me how beautiful she is. That's what counts. Do we debate? You bet. If there is a feeling that a person, a pet, a horse, is in danger or not being taken care of due to lack of knowledge, we give advice and creative criticism. We dont always agree, but we are always civil and polite about it, and if we arent, we get snipped by the mods. It's not everyday people are accused of being "too nice"....so we are all guilty as charged.

Oh, I don't know - seems I remember maybe being in a debate or two around here...

Actually we have had some pretty lively debates. The problem is somone always seems to come along and take something personally, gets all defensive, and blows up the thread, so it gets deleted into never-never land where it can't be viewed.

Just post a thread complaining about how you were galloping your 18 month old colt over to your neighbors to breed him to their club footed mare, when he got tangled in barbed wire, and you had to ship him to a slaughter house in Mexico, and see what happens...

Too nice-NAH! You'll notice a lot of people on here are very warm and fuzzy. Its great. Post something about injustice be it to a horse or person and the bats will fly!
Its a wonderful place and you will find a few bad apples but the mods will take care of it. Its nice.
As for being a newbie dont worry you'll feel like part of the gang in no time!

I agree with all of you. Being new this past fall, I was always afraid to post, thinking it was like other forums, but HT is nothing like any other forum. I don't go on any other forums. I figure if I need any help or advice I will get what I need here with great results, and not feel like a fool. I am an addict to this site. Everyone here is very nice, it keeps me coming back. Thanks HT!!
