Tack Swap

I don't know about you guys, but I think there should be another requirement for being able to post in the tack swap. I know it says be wary of trading with people that haven't posted much...but I think it should be a rule rather than a suggestion. Maybe members that want to partcipate should have a post count of atleast 400 or 500? I think this would help out with those of us that believe everyone is honest, whether they have 40 posts or 1000. I am guilty of trading with a member whom I thought was legit (87 posts, not bad) and I got nothing in return and have not been able to get in contact with them since. What do you guys think? Should it just stay '"trade at your own risk?"

I have, these isn't much they can do, but they are doing what they can..and I greatly appreciate it. I knew going in that this could happen, so I wasn't that surprised when it did. I'm not out a whole lot, but still no one likes when something like this happens. I would just hate for it to happen to someone else too.

That's why this is posted at the beginning of the thread:

You guys are free to organize this kind of thing on the forum. I would suggest the following as guidelines though:

Don't post your full names and addresses -- save that sort of stuff for email. Please also leave prices to emails and PM's also.

Be wary of trading with newer people who haven't posted much.

Don't mail away anything without the understanding that you might not get anything back in return.
Post photos of the goods if possible so that there are no misunderstandings about what's being traded. Please if you can try to keep the photo size down so it's easier to load up the page.

Keep shipping costs in mind -- Lily had the right idea when she said "small, mailable things."

Have fun with this!
I know it really stinks when you can't trust people but we really have no control over how people decide to do business.

But please do feel free to contact any of us moderators if you do have an issue.

I'm going to lock this thread now.
