I know you are all busy, but it is getting really frustrating when I try to log in and keep getting maintenance messages and page cannot be displayed.

I wouldn't ever leave HT, but if theres any way this can be nipped in the bud that would be awesome.

Thank you!!!!

There are not nearly as many people using this forum anymore. I check when I log in and the current active users list is usually pretty small.

I second what oldbear said. Send a pm when it's fixed.

This has been driving me crazy on at least 3 different computers in at least 3 different locations. Whenever I log onto HT, it's not long before I get a blank page or "page cannot be displayed" message - and it affects me on the ads pages as well. If it helps I'll note that I don't have this problem at all with any other website.

I like this forum and I want to stay (I don't even have my 1 year banner yet!!), but it's really hard to justify it when I can't even post Heck, I'll be surprised if this one does on the first try.

I too am having problems with the connection to only Horsetopia. It took several attemps to get on the site. I also tried to "search for horses for sale" and couldn't get anywhere with that part of the website either. This problem that they are having is affecting everything. People are paying to place their ad and we can't even get to the site to view the ads. I hope that they get it fixed soon.

You know this is getting so OLD now, I totally get that some of these things are hard to track down and fix but today has been the worst so far.

It doesn't seem that difficulty to me to post an update, even if it's

"sorry we're still working hard to try and fix the problem"

It's obvious that us mere people who are posting aren't important, but we are becoming a rare breed as more and more people get fed up and look for pastures new. Hell I've even given up looking for things for sale because it's just so frustrating, and you know how addicted to online shopping I am!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a good point. How many people who don't belong to the forum are posting and paying for ads that can't be viewed. That's really bad business. It's one thing to waste someone's time, it's another to waste their money.

Have you noticed, no response from the Mods? Issues here, too.

I wonder if the problem exists because there are fewer servers devoted to the message board? In general, when browsing the internet if the servers that are available for a particular website get overwhelmed you get the page can not be displayed error.

If there were fewer servers devoted to the message board, it would explain why no one can post about when the problem will be fixed since reducing capacity would have been a thoughtful decision by the owners in the first place. Just a thought.

IDK, but I've had issues even looking at the ads. So now I'm going to AgDirect instead.

Well, I for one am just fed up. If it kicks me off that is the last I get on for the day. I have plenty of irritants in my life I can do nothing about, but this I don't have to deal with.

The new drop downs still really irritate me.

In case you missed the announcement on the main forum, the site will be down tomorrow afternoon - hopefully that fixes the issue!

I love HT too but when I get kicked off 10 times trying to post a reply that I clicke off and go to another forum.
Perhaps it will be fixed. they were down last saturday for 5 hours so that did not fix the problem.
I wonder why no one is answering our inquiry about this. seems like we are talking to Martians. they do not understand our language so they say nothing they are up there watching.

OK, I read when they are going to be down, now for another question? I know they hate seeing my posts. but here goes.

How long is it going to be down?

You know you are right, must be Martians

As soon as I saw the announcement I sent a nice polite pm, just pointing out that people would want to know how long the site would be down for. Also asked if they didn't actually know how long it would be, totally understand that these things can over run, then just say that.

Silence is the stern reply.

Oh well at least we are all learning how insignificant we are, because we only participate on this board, so not important.......

Apart from the fact we generate a lot of traffic, which means you can i presume charge for advertising, and I also presume that the more active posters you have the better rates you can charge??

Oh yes and we are all shopaholics, most of us don't need another horse, or more tack, but we graze the ads anyway, and support the revenue stream over there.

I guess that this recession can't be hurting at all, because if it was you'd be falling over yourselves to keep us precious potential cash cows hooked. The one thing I did learn in my years in Customer Service, people can be suprisingly reasonable if you keep them informed of the status of problems!

Remembers to C&P before trying to post

ETA..........................WHOOPS, my bad, wasn't patient enough to wait for a reply, it's going to be down for an hour.....................so if that's what the tech people are saying, I normally double it

Thanks for the update, I do appreciate it
