Dillon is back out in the BIG pasture... PICS Added

So any and all prayers would be appreciated.. you KNOW how our boo-boo bear is.. Hopefully we will come home to no issues.. and everyone just grazing peacefully..

Darn Prissy stone bruised while we were gone - and has thrush again.. so we moved her into Dilly's pen, as it has a nice big turn out as well as a nice padded floor in the covered section.. Spider is with her mom for now - we were thinking of weaning her this weekend, but I now want to wait until Prissy is up to the stress...

Wendy we moved to the other pasture - it now contains two alpha mares (Wendy and Sandy) - along with Dayze and Rio.. the funny thing is that Wendy and Sandy adore each other.. just no one else..

So Dillon - the poor bubble wrap yearling - is out with Hannah, BJ, and Peppy... so far, so good.. at least for the past 12 hours..

Anyone else have one like him.. sweet, but accident prone.. he has been responsible for more greys on my head this year.. and I really don't need the extras..

Yep, Dakota my big guy tried to do himself in 3 times before he was one year old, and a couple of times during his 2 year old year. Thank goodness he grew out of it!

I think it is a boy thing, and if it is any indication to a good horse...Well, I think you gots yourself an excellant one!

Just in case...packing a box of duck tape to go along with Divine's bubble wrap

Thanks.. When I checked on him just before leaving for work, he and Peppy were buddied up and grazing peacefully.. Do you know that he is almost as tall as Peppy.. and just shy of 18 months..

Hopefully, on 5 acres, with only 4 horses, he will stay boo-boo free...

I am thinking good thought for you GBar

My gelding is the most accident prone creature I have ever personally come across. Remember last year when he just HAD to get to the grass on the other side of the fence and split his ear down the middle? As a matter of fact, he's lame right now! Only this time, it's not his fault. Abcess.

Oh no.. maybe he could come up and keep Prissy company.. she has a big stone bruise on her left front - and thrush in her two back feet.. They could enjoy bute and the trun out pen together..

You need to bubble wrap Dillion, the pastures, fences, & any bushes or trees. Prayers headed your way that he stays accident free..

Fingers and Toes are crossed that he will be fine when you get home tonight. Can't wait to see pictures of him out in the pasture with his new friends. Hint, HInt.

I will get some this weekend.. We fed everyone their grain and alfalfa before we turned him out - figured they would behave better with full bellies.. so it was too dusky for photos by the time he went out.. I had to shoo him away from me - he reminded me of a kid going off on that first day of school..

He will still come in every evening for his portion.. Hannah is somewhat of a chow hound, and I am not taking any chances that she will run over him

Be careful dillon!

Our "old faithful" spirit is accident prone.

He will trip over his own feet just because he wasn't paying attention, He somehow cut his eye ball in an open hay pasture with NO trees or anything at all around to cut it on.
He's cut his legs in a hay pasture which, Once again has NOTHING in it, it's a hay pasture.

He's gotten himself stuck, jaw deep, in the pond.... The list goes on and on But we love him, and he's caleys' future mount (old faithful) so we just keep extra bandages around and a close eye on him

King was my accident prone baby. Knock on wood, he hasn't hurt himself since he turned 2. His last accident almost cost him his life, maybe after that scare, he's being more careful. I hope Dillon has learned his lesson, too, and will give you some peace!

I sure hope so.. he is a big boy for his age, and sometimes I do think it makes them more "gangly" and accident prone...

King is gorgeous by the way.. you know how much I loved him - and him me - when we were there..

LOL awww, poor fellow.

Mac is like that. Just as sweet as can be, but every day I come out to feed in the morning and he has gotten out and eaten all the alfalfa, he has cut his neck, scratched his face, new cut on his butt...who knows how he does it, his stall is so babyproofed that I could walk into the fence and come out okay.
