A sad State for an old horse

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080827/...MEZgUiztiB IF

If you live in Hickman, Nebraska, don't expect to be able to keep a horse, even if you've got 4 acres and the horse has been there since it was born in 1976!!!

I, for one, am disgusted by the City Council voting evict the horse and to fine the man $100 day until he removes the horse, that was born on the property!!!

I didn't read the whole thing, but it made no mentioned of a neglected horse, or a horse causing any "damage" to a community, it just disgusts me that they are doing this!

That is VERY sad who would do that to an old man and an old horse. If they think to move that horse they might as well humanly euthanize him because he will surely die of a broken heart.

There have been numerous offers to take care of Peter Rabbit. One thing to note is the horse owner's son is the one who pushed for annexation. He was also offered a deal where they could do something similar to licensing a dog and having a health certificate done yearly to keep horse where he was. They refused. The son also pushed to have land zoning classification changed from agriculture to commercial.

Now before I get stoned I think they should let the horse stay, he is 32 years old after all. But the city council has tried to meet them halfway and they will not talk.
