My picture placed in best of show...

Oh man this is so exciting!

I won second in Best of Show for Student Photography at the San Diego County Fair!

I printed a huge 16 x 20 of it, and it is hanging in the hallway. It is of Rocketman, my first and favorite horse. I entitled it "The Love of my Life"...and everyone thought it was weird, but they don't understand horsepeople.

The picture that won is my avatar, but it is in black and white.

LOL Arabiancowgirl, I am a professional wedding photographer. I work under my boss' company, but I get to take and edit pictures that I take at weddings myself. I don't think that I could ever make it an actual career though...it is a very difficult field to get into, it is expensive and you never know when you'll get work.

It will just be my hobby. I think I found a hobby that is more expensive then horses, though...I just bought a new lens for work that was $15,000!

Wonderful! I love the photo!
But $15,000 for a lens Does it do the touch up and editing for you?

LOL no cowhorsegal, it's a telephoto for long distances. It takes crystal clear pictures. I'm jealous of it.

Thanks everyone.

Congrats on the win! Great photo...

But 15K on your "hobby"??? I can't justify that for my horses (although I would love to)...heck, I can't get away with more than a couple hundred....

LOL AJ, I know. My boss drops $5-10,000 just on a "for fun" lens. The ones that the photographers use at the Olympics are probably worth $20-30,000.

Photography is very expensive. I spent $1100 on my camera, and it is a medium pro grade camera. One day I hope to get a better one, but for right now this one does me just fine.
