First lope!!!

There is the most awesome kid horse at our barn that we are leasing for Josh. This guy has taught hundreds of kiddos to ride. He does exactly as asked and always keeps the little ones safe. His name is Beau and he is an 18 year old Arabian. He has blessed our family twice this summer - three weeks ago my husband loped for the first time on Beau, and last week my son loped for the first time, also on Beau. I couldn't have asked for a better mount for them to introduce them to a faster gait safely. I am so proud of hubby, son and of course Beau.

You can see how much Beau loves kids - Here is the handsome gentleman with my son the morning of his first lope:

What a beautiful boy Beau is! Congrats on your loping family! More pics of Beau would be dandy, and maybe some loping shots of the fam!

I just love hearing stories like that!
And some people say horses don't have personalities or form relationships

Okay Scrapchick - if you insist

Josh getting Beau ready for the day. I must admit it was an awesome mother and son morning together - what a special time to get to ride Rosie with my son riding Beau - a dream come true...

The loping pictures I actually took with our new video camera and I haven't stopped yet to figure out how to transfer it to the computer

He looks so much like my first horse.. that same sweet face..

I love it.. what a great way to learn to ride.. and how wonderful for the horse to have his own special human to love him as well... They look perfect together..

You should have heard Josh yell "YEEEEEEEEHAWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!" when Beau took off - he was so excited. And Beau, great boy that he is, took it all in stride.
