Jim has challenged me to train Appy Gilmore to be able to be a firing platform

, so I can take the .22 out and be able to take a shot if we come across something.
Soooooooo, today the horses had to be moved to a big paddock while we moved cows around, so when I went to check everyone this evening, I thought I would test the water. I decided that there was plenty of room for the horses to bolt if they wanted to, and they have heard gunfire before, just not up close.
They all came up to the gate and I stood the other side, took careful aim down the track into a safe area, then watched the horses as I fired.
Fancy spun round and took off for the horizon, and kept going.
Appy Gilmore spun round, ran about 10 feet than came back doing the post beautiful passage with his tail up like an Arabian
Max was hanging over the gate, watching in the direction of the shot, going #mmmmmm not bad"
So I don't think Fancy wants to be a gun horse, Max should be easy, and I think I'll win the bet with Appy
