Monday Parable #6 - follow

With life being soooooo tough recently, it is hard to know which way to go. So, I am taking my halter to the GREAT FARMER and giving it to Him.

******************************************

Nobi was a great quality mini horse that had lived long enough to know the wise farmer (that's me ) could be well trusted to take care of her.

Yet, one day the wise farmer brought the halter to get Nobi, and Nobi didn't want to go. She never knew if she would be led to get a pedicure (she loved pedicures, but they just took too much time out of her day). She didn't know if she would be led to go for a trailer ride (she liked those too, but preferred to stay home in her own safe pen.) She for sure didn't know if it was to be led over to see the mean vet (she knew the wise farmer said that the things the mean vet did was for her own good, but most of those awful things he did just didn't make sense as to how that could be good for her) She trusted the wise farmer (that's me ), but she just didn't want to be caught, haltered and led somewhere on that day.

She ran around the pen, but soon decided it was just to much work to run away from the wise farmer.

The wise farmer (that's me ) put her halter on her. Then the wise farmer led her to a place away from the other horses. The wise farmer gave her a special treat of grain mixed with beat pulp and calf manna because that mean vet had said would be good for her (This had Nobi thinking maybe the mean vet really wasn't so mean, but she wouldn't ever let anyone know that). Day after day, the wise farmer put on Nobi's halter and led her to the special snack place.

The wise farmer (that's me ) one day went to get Nobi and laughed. Nobi had taken the halter off the hook and was bringing it to the farmer. She really wanted to go with the wise farmer. It had become very very easy for the wise farmer (that's me ) to take Nobi where ever she needed to be.

Moral: Even when we know we can trust the GREAT FARMER to take good care of us, it is scary to be led when we don't know where we are going and what awaits us. Sometimes, the GREAT FARMER takes us into situations that seem mean, because we don't understand how they will actually help us. Yet after awhile of trusting and following Him, going where ever He picks to lead us, we learn all these things are actually great things for us. And sometimes the GREAT FARMER takes us to a very special place where we are alone with Him and he gives us very special treats that are laid out just for us. So grab your halter and follow His lead..

I, too, am going thru a rough spot in life. Not nearly as rough as yours, but rough, just the same. Your stories, especially this one, lift me up. Thanks.
