I took my mare that is GREEN out for a ride across a highway. She has only been ridden out of the pen once before. And has had little work on her as she bores with ground work and pen work. So with baby in tow I get on and she spooks. Throws in two jumps but stops just as I figure on bailing. She spooked at the trough that I used to get on with as she hit it. Anyway thinking this ride is going to be a catastrophe. But go anyway. She crosses the road fine. get into the bridlepaths and goes great. Then on the way back. She trips and falls to her knees or further. Throws me onto her neck. And I was expecting to come off before I get my seat again because most horses would have panicked and jumped up. Not her she stayed there until I regained my seat and tugged on the reins. And even then she just stood up. Amazing. I am still in awe at her. She has had only about 6 rides on her in total. Here is her and Baby
Yeah she is amazingly smart and willing. AS for what she tripped on it was a rut in soft ground that was covered in grass. So I didn't even see it.
Yeah she is a morgan but she is just one of a kind anyway.
Annem I seen your boy and what lines is he. Mine is a JMF out of Tofield. They look a bit similar.
I do not fully understand "Lines" etc., but from his papers it says that his Sire was Treboy and his Dam was Paramount Quebec. His name is Jack Treboy. Does that help? I do agree, they do look very much alike.
Okay did some research. They have one similar name, Upwey Ben Don. Yours boy is on his papers mine is a bit further back but she is only 4. That is probably where the head is from.
I have an Upwey Ben Don Mare. At 22 she is still full of fire and loves to go and have fun. She is my best friend and the best 1st horse anyone could of had.
I am still in awe about that. After riding for 25 years I have never had a horse young or old so careful with thier rider. Yeah she did throw in two jumps before the ride but she did spook, and they were not hard jumps just unexpected.
