something's odd about Tia

She's acting like she really likes me .

Since the fall I haven't been able to ride cuz life happened. We opened up the back and I really did think it would be he** trying to catch them but nope. They come when they are called or are waiting for me in the morning . I haven't even really gone out of my way to butter her up, it's been in and out and back to working around here.

Well the other day I noticed a big change in her and her facial expressions, she seemed softer , willing and receptive (sp). Making more advances towards me without me initiating things and this morning were things really cool. As a matter of fact there was one day I brought her in to brush her up and she fell asleep in the stall. I mean head almost to the ground So today as usual they were at the barn waiting for me at 9 and I did what I normally do, do my walk around to make sure no one is hurt and say good morning. Well guess who was first TIA. Never is she first always stays back and I have to walk around her a few times before she stops and lets me pet her.

This morning she FOLLOWED me around as I did my inspections and actually chased away the horses near me . Not just one but every one that came anywere near me including the dogs and Reyna her second in command that never leaves her side I'm thinking how cool is that, just what I had dreamed of as a little girl, my horsey not letting anyone near me .

This afternoon I had some time to work her and thought I'd join Kenya in the pen while she worked Maya. As usual Tia was good and relaxed (didn't poop once in her stall) tacked her up and brought her out and just as I expected the attitude started up. I DON'T WANT TO WORK!!!!!!!! Head shaking and kicking at the bucking strap. Fine I'll take off the straps....HAHAHA took one side off and she was gone running around the pen not wanting to be caught and repeatedly sneeking big mouthfuls of hay from the round bail in it. She obviousely thought this was fun as once she'd had enough she stoped, eyes bright and ears pirked forward and strolled up to me like she'd done nothing wrong.

"Ok fine you want to play that way", so I took her to the round pen and lunged her for 10-15 minutes till she realized I don't play that way. Got her back to the riding pen (which is Rosario's corral ) hopped on and asked for a walk. She walked and didn't even blink as we past the gate out oh kay humm trot and trot she did, again not looking at the gate. Whoa.....on a dime thank you very much turned and repeated it all in the other direction. Whoa again and asked for a back up and backed up like she'd been doing this for years.

Today was a very possitive day for us, I actually feel her in my heart.

Aww, isn't that just so touching when they like you?

Congrats on your accomplishment. Hopefully there will be more to come!

Ya I know, My Diamond In The Rough, thanks guys. Are you getting annoyed with me talking about her yet .

My one boarder told me the other day that if she hadn't been the way she was then this wouldn't be half as satisfactory as it is. What a true feat and feeling of accomplishment.
