Looks like hoofs are rotting off

With all the rain we've been getting here near Tampa FL, the pastures are like marshes where I board. My horse is out 24/7. Tonight when I took him in, his corronet band right above the top of his hoof is all rotted, and has almost like holes (openings) all the way around and the bottom of his heels. It's on all 4 feet, but worse on his fronts. I wish I had a picture. I will post one tomorrow if I can. I didn't know what to do....first I put him in his stall and he will be staying there for a while. I put some gold bond foot powder on it. Not knowing what to do. I didn't want to do anything too much, but wanted to at least try and dry it up and soothe it. But he's not lame, and it is not painful to him to the touch, and it doesn't have any heat coming out of it. I'm sure it's just from him being in the wet too much and too long. But has anyone dealt with this or know what to do for it? I will post again tomorrow with pictures.
Thanks

You can paint the hooves with Venice Turpintine to get them harder and more water resistant.

Remeber, hoof dressings not only hold moisture in the hoof, they also can keep it out. Any good shiney hoof polish shoiuld keep his feet from soaking up too much water. Just let them dry out in the stall first.

Don't worry there's nothing wrong. Whenever the horsey's in a moist/wet environment for prolong periods the coronary band will turn whitish and will get small holes in it. I don't know the why part, but do know the cause.

Maybe ask your vet, the y. If you could email me the reason, I'd really like to know too. My email is <email address removed for privacy protection>

Can make a dry area for them ?? Like bring in a load of fill, level it and put down some rubber mats, so they can at least get out of the wettness ??

Sad part, That big storm is out there and either track it goes, its going to dump some rain in Fla.
