Bell Boots!
Put some rubber slip on bell boots. We always keep them on, it helps with keeping shoes on,too.
I would leave the shoes on, if he left his toe a little long it would explain why he is clicking. I would maybe square his toes in the back next time. I am no expert lol that's why we changed to a $150 + farrier from a $65 one. My horses used to start clicking about 3-4 weeks after a trim. He kept their toes way too long. Now the new farrier is coming out every 5 weeks so sometimes you just have to trim them more often.
