I know this is a small accomplishment but i'm sure my fellow Horsetopians will understand and appreciate my pride in my boy.... I got Lucky this past winter and even though he's a sweet sweet boy, he had been badly abused by a former owner, and he was very very touchy about his feet. I did a post about it when I first bought him. He wouldnt let anyone get near his feet...if we tried to touch his feet at all he would kick soooo hard! I turned to this forum for advice on getting him over this....well after working with him (and getting a little panicked that we could never get him trimmed) he finally got better about letting me pick up his front feet and he would let me brush his hind feet, but not let me pick them up, he wouldnt let my bf get anywhere near his feet. Our farrier is a male and Lucky is very afraid of men so I was worried. Yesterday the farrier came out to do the other 2 horses and i asked him if he could try to trim Lucky to see how he would react. We put Lucky in a stall so he could watch the other 2 get trimmed and when it was his turn he was GREAT! That little fellow let him trim all 4 of his feet and didnt try to kick him one time. I was so proud of my boy! We had worked very hard using all the tricks you guys told me about on here to get him over his touchy feet problem and I guess they worked....THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE GREAT ADVICE!
