Excellent Thrush Control Product

I recently had twin girls that developed thrush of the mouth over the weekend. After consideration we decided to treat it with a product called Gentine Violet which is availible from the pharmacy. After two treatments, one of my girls is completely free of thrush and the other is almost cured. We bought a new arabian gelding on the weekend which of course, he had thrush. We used the gentine violet on his hooves and after three applications the thrush has almost disapeared. We just pour a very small amount in a bowl and paint it on his hooves. Alittle goes a long way with this product so for the cost of $12.00 we cured three with only 4-6 tbs of the liquad and left with an almost full bottle.

Give it a try and let me know if you have the same results.

I believe gentian violet is one of the ingredients in ThrushBuster (and any of the other purples medicines). The American Farrier's Journal had an article that said gentian violet can burn any new, sensitive tissue. My farrier said it's OK in mild cases, but can actually retard healing in more severe cases.

I have heard this also. I will stick to Koppertox. Love it and it works. I know it is a safe product.
