Jack lost his shoe-Farrier came problem fixed

Decided to give Jack a bath last night around 9 and when I was cleaning his hooves, his shoe was off on one side and we had to take it off the rest of the way. I called my farrier twice and left a message. Im going to keep bugging him, but if I dont hear back from him, what is the best thing to do? There are few farriers that are going to come out and fix one shoe if you arent a client, but I might end up having to get the other guy to do it. My only concern with that is that the shoe probably wont stay on since he isnt the best at shoe jobs yet. Trims, he is fine, but kinda in a jam here. He gets an abcess without the shoes and HAS to wear them on the front feet only. He wasnt overdue and the other hoof looks great. That particular hoof grows a little different then the other one and we have had a ton of rain, so its pretty soft. He hasnt lost a shoe ever (with the one exception of the new guy I tried who Jack didnt like. The shoe came off the next week) If I cant get my regular guy out here, I dont want an abcess on my hands. I have read alot about putting a diaper and duct tape on hooves. Any suggestions so I dont end up with a problem?

Diaper and Vet Wrap and then some duct tape perhaps. Have you left a message for the farrier?

Can you restrict his area until the farrier can get there so he doesn't get abcessed?

Yep, left 2 messages, one at 9 and the other this morning and the 3rd time I called he said he would be there in 5 minutes. It would have been nice if he returned my call when he got the message this morning to say he would coming so I wouldnt have had to keep bugging him. But anyway, thanks Range and got the problem fixed. I knew there was something with a diaper, but wasnt sure.
