We'll miss you Chase - RIP

As many of you know, we had a rough time this past December/January with our horses getting out and losing my 3 year old QH Bo. We came to the decision that we needed to sell all our horses for their own well-being, with the exception of Rosie who I am boarding near our home, and my husband's mare Missy, who is currently at a trainer's facility for 60 days.

I had a beautiful bay roan mustang gelding named Chase that I had fell in love with and had bought sight unseen and had shipped to our land. Chase was the most in your pocket mischievious, good hearted horse you'd ever want to meet. He loved kids and would nuzzle their hair with his lips for as long as you'd let him. He used to love to kick the hubcaps on my husband's car and lick the windshield - Yucch! Silly boy. He was always wherever people were - always trying to be a part of what was going on.

I had to sell Chase for his own good - we weren't moving onto our land and I couldn't give a four year old people loving gelding the attention he needed and deserved. So I sold him to a really good home - about three hours away but one that I would be able to visit in the future and see how he was doing. That was hard but best for Chase. But what I am about to write is much harder...

I had been calling for over a month and leaving messages, asking how Chase was doing. I got a sinking feeling in my stomach - I knew something was wrong because I could never get them on the phone. I would get voicemails back but they never answered my question: How is Chase doing? I knew something was wrong and the letter I received in the mail today confirmed it.

Chase colicked and passed away over a month ago. They couldn't bring themselves to tell me because they knew how upset I'd be...

So Chase and Bo are reunited in heaven. I am so sad for both of my boys - they were both so young, loved people and full of potential. I thank God for my Rosie but this reminds me how precious each day is, that we are only here a short time so we need to make the most of each moment...

Rest in Peace Chase and Bo. I hope you are both enjoying green pastures together like you used to on our land in Point...

Chase's first day home with me:

That brings tears to my eyes. That is such a sad way to loose a horse.

Atleast you gave him a great life, and he has a friend in heaven that he can talk to and reminisce with. RIP Chase and Bo

I'm glad that Chase had someone waiting for him, at least you can take comfort from that.

I am so sorry for your loss. ((((HUGS))) may your heart find comfort in knowing your boys are together again.
I lost my mare after sharing 30 wonderful years together, I would have given anything for 30 more I miss her everyday, but I know she is with me and I know someday I will indeed see her again.

I am so sorry that Chase passed. I can understand why the new owners were reluctant to contact you. {{{{hugs}}}}
