Wasp attack

How long would you expect the after-effects of a wasp attack to last? I'm talking the welts...how long would you expect to see them after a full-scale assault on the body? (Every single inch of the body.)

They can last a pretty good while- Weeks. Especially a bad attack, it can take a long time for the body to process all of the poison. There can also be scar tissue left for a lot longer than that. More than anything, it depends on how many times you were stung and how allergic you are to the wasps.

ETA: Sorry, I assumed you were talking about a person. I imagine it would be the same for a horse, but it might not be!

Situation - Fluffy the Wonder Horse apparently stuck his head where it didn't belong and got the bejeezus stung out of himself. I mean, his whole entire body. He swelled up something awful! He is literally the most accident prone horse I have ever met and he's lucky I still give him the little bit of grain he gets with the amount of stress he puts me through on a weekly basis.

After 2 weeks, most of the welts have disappeared. However, when he's up for the night or gets hot (like after working), the welts reappear on his upper neck and cheeks and shoulders (where the most swelling was in the beginning).

I've eliminated all possible allergens except the shavings (which he's never reacted to before) and something in the field.

I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me that perhaps, in fact, it's not an allergen, but the continuing repercussions from the wasp attack.

I know I got stung two times in the leg by a wasp and two week later still itchy and swollen. So I would imagine the same for himl
Poor baby, try benedryl I get the cheapies from Family dollar to keep in the barn, I have two horses allergic to gnats .It works great. I give 4 pill to 800lb horse.
I am chuckling now thinking about him covered in calamine lotion.
