Black as Night vs. Dark Coat?

Has anyone used both of these products? IF so, which did you like best? I got the Dark Coat as that was the only one my tack shop had. My boy is a bit sun-bleached, but where hair is coming back in, it is black. I've heard and read that a lot of folks use the Black as Night, and wondered if it worked better.

As a side note, the farrier says his hooves are in great shape! Probably from the biotin in the Dark Coat.

I haven't used either one, but I have heard the main ingredient in Black as Knight is Paprika. If it is the same in Dark Coat, that would be much cheaper!

my friend uses the black as night stuff and loves it and it works great. But I don't think she's ever used any other kind so not sure if it's better then the dark coat one or not

I've heard the same thing as Carrie about the paprika.

I've known people who used the black as night, but it was expensive. I'd be tempted to do some research on paprika and the amounts to use if I wanted to darken my horse's coat.

We have always used the Black as Knight. It works really well. It helps the hair from the inside out. We used it on our black TWH when we showed him and we always got compliments on how shiney and black he was. It really makes the hair look good.

We started Goose on paprika twice a day - 1 tbs each feeding about 6 weeks ago. I feel like he is a darker in places, but we won't really see a big difference until his hair coat changes. I have been pleased so far and the big thing of Paprika from Sam's is about $5.00 and lasts for several weeks. It's cheap enough to be worth a try.

i use the GOLD-AS-SUN (from the same people as the black-as-night) and i love it, and i only feed 1/2 of what they say to use on my chestnut stallion and he shines like a copper penny.

If you click on search on the top green bar and then type in there are a lot of posts that discuss the Black as Knight vs paprika topic. I was checking it out last night. Some of the posts had before and after pictures. I used B as K on my Genie and I thought it seemed to make a difference from last summer to this spring. Then she was on night turn out part of spring and summer and she has stayed looking pretty decent.

The Dark Coat definitely has a lot of paprika in it--it's more or less the color of paprika. Wonder why it makes them black instead of dark red?????? Anyway, I may try plain paprika once I run out of this stuff, especially if the tack shop doesn't have the Black as Night. But then, the biotin in it seems to be good for his feet........

Shoot, I don't give this much thought to my own vitamins--I just get whatever's on sale! Then again, my boy is definitely spoiled!
