Fat pony

I have a question for any of you that may have regular horses and a pony. Our Exmoor pony looks to fat to me-- they are built kinda chubby looking but I think she has gained weight since we bought her.....
My issue being is I currently only have 3 horses(including her) they are all out together -- the pasture is getting kinda brown now (no rain) so I am feeding some hay( no grain to any of them)............... The full grown horses look great--actually have slimmed down(they were too fat this spring) but they need the extra hay with the pasture so dry-- I think the pony is getting too much but cannot really stop her from eating all she wants and she is the "leader". I do have a sand area and am thinking the pony may need ot go in there part of the day..
I hate making her be seperated but do not want her ot get tooo fat
So what should I do? If i put her in the sand lot-- how long" day time or night time? How much hay should I feed her?
Thanks

Get a grazing muzzle for her then she can be out with the other horses. Put it on her during the day and off at night. Watch her weight and adjust the time she wears it as needed.

Paso pony thats a great idea. I need two one for Rolo and one for Misty! Dodib I hear you... We errected a piggie pen for Misty and Rolo as both are chubby ladies. But, so far I have not seen Rolo loose anyweight where as Misty has slimmed down considerablly... Ponies metabalisum must run different then a horse I figure!? Can you ride or drive her? Extra exersize would definalty be a bonus and help a great deal!
