I thought I had ADM on there LOL

they also have Grostrong pellets with protein

The Moorglo is more of a fat supplement then a ration balancer

Yeah, but it is not from starches. Mainly from Rice Bran. All good stuff. I like it and only feed 1 - 2 pds per day.????

I guess maybe the pro vitamin tubs that I feed would be considered a ration supplement? The ingredients are more of the same as the others. But it is free choice 1pd a day.

Interesting........

Most fat supplements are designed to be fed at that amount and they are great ..LOL

ADM is great products from what I have heard we can't get them here so I haven't had a chance to TRY them

Most of the ration balancers are in about the 3% range on crude fat...

Yes GBAR, it is hard to find! They have a plant out of Cordele, GA and the other is out of Illinois. I wish they would get more localized here as well, since I closed up! I am driving 45 min to get it now!

Hmmmm Weird since they are based out of Illinois. I would think they would be more localized there!

See if this would be considered one please, PeggySue. This is what I feed in summer.

Thanks!

It is weird.. I called the company's 1-800 number too - and I guess they feel that there isn't a market for it here where we are.. I can find it 2 hours away though.. lotta help that was...

Wendy if they are eating enough of it yes that would work... but with the Grostrong you feed each horse so you KNOW what they are getting ...

closest one to me is an hour away ... stupid huh

I keep getting things from IL work force place about a job but it is an hour drive although I would LOVE to work for them !!!

Thanks! They sure gave me a lot of information and learning experiences, wish they were closer to me. I would workdirectly for them!
I love the tubs, but have found only the older horses eat them. I think they hurt the younger ones teeth (JMO) But that is why only my older ones are on them. I would never use another companies tubs though because everyone elses fiiler in them are chicken feathers! My horses get plenty of the Grostrong treats so that is taken care of! Kids love to give them treats! Winter time everything changes though!

LOL chicken feathers LOL that is a good one...

Now 20 years ago Purina was teh number one purchaser of chicken feathers in the US

Kent has a block similar to that that is a fixed formula block and the horses LOVE it ....

My problem with MOST of the blocks is the amount of molasses they use ... I have no t seen the ADM one so I don't know about it but I would almost bet it is loaded as well ...

Nope, none! This is not a block, it is a tub. I won't feed molasses. Only thing that has molasses is beet pulp that mine get.
Tractor Supply Co also carries tubs but like several others the filler is FeatherMeal!
ADM's is Soybean meal.
I know that there is another one made that Central States carries, Hoof, Health, Something like that! They tried to get me to sell it. and use myself. I wouldn't because of Chicken feathers!

do you have the ingredient list off of that one I would love to see it ... because most have molasses as the binder to hold it all together

I stand corrected! Sorry! I thought you were talking about it being a major ingredient, like in the cow molasses blocks. The other binders are Veg oil refinery lipids, flour and Mineral Oil, etc. I learn something new all the time!
However, with a horse only getting 1lb per day, they still have so little intake that it doesn't effect anything. (Per the horse nutritionist I just talked to)
This is what was recommended for feeding at our horse nutrition seminar back in November. He said this is all they need with adequate pasture because it is "a key component with good quality forage and it is a concentrated protein, vitamin, and mineral supplement for horses on pasture" It is a Grostrong mineral product. I have used it for 2yrs now with good results.

Funny, I never looked deeply into Buckeye. Friend was on it and I thought it was like the Moorglo. It is neat learning, but I will say before all else I know hay and hay quality is foremost!

Wendy you are right forage hay and pasture are the number ONE in a horse's diet.... but what most people fail to realize is that they still need to add a vitamin mineral supplement because our horses can not hunt and get what they need out of our pastures and hays
