I am toying with the idea of buying my 15 year old barrel horse a magnetic blanket, does anyone use them, have a used one for sale or have any input on them...a friend of mine uses a motorized one but they are over $3500 i cant spend taht much on something there is not really clinically proven to work...any advice or imput would be lovely!

My equine chiropractor uses one when she is done working on the horses. She swears by it and all I can say is she gets good results.

She did tell me there is a world of difference in the various blankets. She has one that pulses and says that is the best.

I use them and I believe that they are the greatest thing since cracked ice. All of the big trainers use them as well......If you want to be on the cutting edge then you use these type of products.Scientific studies do show that they speed up circulation and aid in healing sore muscles and strained tendons and ligaments.....I would highly recommend them.....

I have one. I have not used it, although all my horses are mostly pasture pals right now and none of them do any work for me to justify using it.

I would be willing to sell it. Ill have to measure it, and get more info on it if you are interested. Its not a mechanical one, its just got magnets along the key areas and they are removable for washing the blanket as well. Send me a pm or email at North.Idaho.Cowgirl@gmail.com if you are interested.

Thanks

A TON of barrel racers use them. Saw one at a very large race a couple weekends ago that I swear he'd have been in trouble if he'd have walked by anything metal. Poor horse had a mag sheet, hock boots, bell boots, splint boots and who knows what else. He'd have stuck for sure!
I don't personally use them at the moment, though I do believe they would work--I've just not gotten to it yet. I have thought about the hock boots for Mia, since she's already having some very minor issues. But they can greatly improve circulation for speedy healing and bouce back. I'd have someone who knows what they are doing help you though. I've heard that if you don't use the right ones they can really screw one up. Something about their polars and if they are opposite polared than the magnet it can be bad bad bad.
PTH's are supposed to be the best, and T-Mags are supposed to be very good also. But also very expensive.

hokey...

Okay, I am the odd man out here, but... I have tried magnets on myself and they don't do a single thing, I don't see how they would help a horse...

I believe in them.

I was told by a lady with a what can be rather high strung horse, that it helps to keep him calm before she runs. I totally believe her.

I have thought about getting a blanket and the polo quilts from PHT.
