Well with lilly going to the vet the guessing will be over, and you will not get any bagging up for at least 6 weeks before due date, so hang in there, and yes that last fun shot was the tell all.
Wonder how much to ship a foal to New york, Hmmmmmm. lol

I am glad you found the thread, I was having issues sending the pictures. And I'm glad that bagging up doesn't have to be a huge concern just yet. Like you said, I just gotta hand in here for a little bit and wait for the results. Can't be more than three days as I'm sure she will be going in this week.

And just for the record, if there is a baby, it will NOT be shipped anywhere! lol I'm keeping this one for myself.

But how about I ship you a life size picture and you can stick that out in the pasture!

She lives back in Breton (home for me, too), about an hour west of Edmonton. Pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. You can come visit!

Okay, so I've been on the phone with Sue and Lily is on her way back home. Hauled her to a vet clinic quite a ways away, but the vets also specialize in warmblood breeding, so they are good vets we took her to. And now for the news....

LILY IS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's about 5-6 months right now, which means she will foal right around the time I finish my final year of college.

The dad is Jack, the *gelding* we thought we cut in time who just recently passed away. I will get his bloodlines for everyone.

Excuse me while I go pass out from all the emotions! Not sure whether I need to laugh or cry or run around the block right now.

I'm so excited I'm practically shaking right now. I thought waiting to find out was hard, but oh my gosh, the release of emotions!!! I'm feeling about as high as I was when I bought Lily. Even ended up with a few tears. Gonna sleep well tonight after all this, that's for sure.

So I guess we will have a foal watch starting in April, since the vets might be off a little bit with the timing. I have a practicum the start of April and end right about the time she's due, but I'm going to see if my instructor can switch my practicums so I do my January one in another town and do my April one back home in Breton so I'm there if anything happens.

Okay, I'm off to look up Jack's info and then post that. The person on the floor below me is gonna hate me, I can't sit still. Keep jumping up and down.

Just got off the phone with Sue's daughter, Kim, who gave me the website to look up Jack's info. And she gave me some history on the boy I didn't know.

I'll try to hunt down a decent picture of Jack, aside from the group shot I have up.

Then select Pedigree from the top, then select Canadain Warmblood Horse Breeders' Association from the drop down box, then search by name for 77 Jack D. You can change how far back you want his pedigree to go.

If anyone doesn't remember, Jack got his name because they bottle fed his with an empty Jack Daniels bottle.

His momma died right after having him from a blood clot. She only had 3 babies and Jack was the only colt. So now Jack is dead and unless he got to any of the others, this foal will be the only one he will have ever had.

Jack was a tall boy! Not sure what he was sitting at when he died as a two year old (somewhere around the 16+ mark but don't know exactly). Big babies are typcial from Uri, though, and most of Jack's sibilings were around the same mark growing up. So Kim's warned me to be prepared for a huge baby Now I typically like the small ones...the security of being closer to the ground...but I guess I will be changing my mind about that in a couple of years! Jack also had awesome movement, so if I get his movement and Lily's brain, I'm going to have a pretty wicked baby!

I'm totally over the initial panic of being in school and worrying about money. It'll be tight with all the extra vaccinations and baby stuff, but I've always had enough to get by before. Now I'm just super excited. Still have a long haul to go, got a couple more months to get through, but I'm pretty much at the halfway mark now.
