Sorry it's taken me a bit to reply! I've been busy now that I'm back in Calgary trying to catch myself back up to speed on the homework.

You and me both! I think I'm going to lose my mind very VERY quickly!

Poor Jack... Sorry to hear about him (((RIP JACK)))
I would def try to get some DNA from him though...it would be nice to know who daddy is...was Jack registered? I cant remember..is your girl registered? This suspence is intense....But Im almost positive on my guess of her being preggers...Ill be totally shocked if she isnt:*think positive think positive* I would rather her be preggers than some underlying health issue...plus I love babies Shes beautiful and I know that baby is going to be stunning. Looking forward to the update of the vet date
Horselady, I wasn't able to get DNA, but if my girl was bred while under my care, it's only Jack or his daddy that could have done the job, and his dad is alive and well, so I'll be able to get DNA from him.

I would so rather Lily be pregnant than have a health issue as well!

And I really do hope if she is pregnant that she has a beautiful baby (mind you, what baby isn't beautiful!?). I think my girl's gorgeous, but of course I'm partial.

I promise I will post the vet update the second I have it. This waiting is about to do me in. The only up side is that I've booked my bus ticket home for this weekend, so Saturday I'll be able to see for myself how she's looking and doing.

Luvridn, thanks for the pics and the support! You're girl really does get a belly, too. Which means if Lily is just chubby, I won't feel so bad. Thanks!!!

Horselady, okay, since you are asking, I'm going to jump off topic for this one post and tell you about the daddies and my girl. Here is the breakdown:

If Lily was bred before I bought her, I'll have to hunt down the former owner about possible daddies, but the only one I can think of was her two year old paint, though I was sure he was gelded. I have no idea if he was registered. I'll cross that bridge if she is pregnant and once I know how far along.

If she was bred while I owned her then we have two possible daddies:

Jack we thought was cut in time, but who knows, I'm learning horses are sneaky! Jack was registered. He's registered as 77 Jack D. 77 for Maull's 77 Stock Farm and Jack D because he was an orphan (Momma died I think from a blood clot right after giving birth to him) and Sue had no bottles to feed him, so she used an empty Jack Daniel's bottle. I don't remember a lot about his mom, other than that she was tall and a very quiet mare. His daddy is Uri.

Uri is Sue's breeding stud. His stud fee is $1,200 and he was imported and used for show jumping in his younger years until he went lame (yet he can jump his six foot fence easily if he wants...sometimes we think he fakes lame). He's a big boy (way taller than I want) and throws tall babies (two year olds are usually around the 16 hand mark and one of his colts made it to 17.3hh by the time he was 4) but he is really gentle and quiet and as long as the mare isn't pyscho he tends to throw that into his babies. Babies are typcially bay or chestnut, but he's also typcially only breed to bay or chestnut mares. In the picture I posted of the gang, all the two year olds are his.
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/urybaldi
and for pics (the site hasn't been updated for a long while, but the pics are good) http://www.77warmbloods.ca/Urybaldi.htm

Now for my baby. Lily was registered, but sold without papers. The former owner did not have them and said she found it was more hassel than it was worth to try and get them, though she herself did breed Lily once. Lily is a thoroughbred and does have a lip tattoo, but it's a lovely faded blue bar now, so I can't track it. I have no idea how else to go about finding papers or what it would cost. But if I decide to pursue it, I'll save that for another thread or someone can pm me.

I dont think i'd be horribly disappointed if my mare was accidently bred to that Uri stallion! at least it would be better being bred to a stud that is nice than say, some odd-ball breed like a peruvian or something. though it would be interesting to see what you would get if you crossed a peruvian and a TB.

ETA: I brought my gelding to the barn after he's been on pasture all summer this last weekend. someone asked if 'she' was due to foal for february/march as 'shes' already getting big...then i informed them that HE is a gelding lol.

Yep, Uri's a pretty nice boy. I've known him for about five years nows...even worked with him a few times, leading him around, feeding, pulled his mane when I was 16.
Haha, it would be interesting to see that cross, though I'm grateful to not have to worry about it myself!

Oh the joys of the grass belly! Your poor guy! Sue's daughter said in my defence, if Lily is just super chubby, that her thick winter woolies don't do much in the slimming department.

I just noticed your post! Thanks for following along. I will be sure to pop online to moment I know what's up with the girl. Going home this weekend, so I'm going to try tapping Lily's belly like horse lady told me to a lot earlier on in the thread and see what I can feel.

Hey, for anyone reading this, does belly fat feel different than a baby? What should I be feeling for? Haha, I didn't spend all summer with my hand on her stomach and never really thought to pay attention to how it felt up until the globe showed up around the middle.

Haha, I've missed posts like this until they get huge, too, so no worries!

Jumpwhat, thanks for another vote toward pregnant. I'm thinking I should start a tally!

Horselady44, I do believe you are officially as excited, if not more than me! But I love it!!! I love having someone following Lily as enthusiastically as I am. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, I can use them! As for the stunning baby part, I'll be sure to pass the compliments on to Lily and Uri both.

As for not letting my hair fall out...I'm not sure how it's still intact...I feel like I should be getting grey hair and I'm not even 20 yet! I'm trying to stick with the rule that school time is meant for studying and work as I'm entering into midterms, but I've alloted the rest of my time to thinking about my girl, doing lots of research and reading on babies, and just daydreaming. And of course, she still controls some of my dreams. Last night I dreamed I owned a teeny tiny black mini and she popped out a baby mini that fit on my index finger, but then I lost the baby. Not sure where the heck these dreams come from! Needless to say, the wait is pretty much controlling me right now.

Livinthedream, I remember reading about Barbie, and I think maybe Lily is a close second. What are we gonna do with these mares!?

Okay, so here are the promised pics. I wanted to do them on the bus ride home (how cool is it that they have wireless internet on the bus!?!) but when I pulled up the pics of her bag I was getting strange looks.

Now bear in mind, these pics were taken three weeks after the last ones I posted. I have a ton of them, so I'll try to only put up a few. If you need a reference, we turned Lily out with the broodmares and most are due May-June. They are all registered warmbloods, Lily is the only thoroughbred in the group.

Don't mind my girl. I know, she's filthy. And in a few she's on a bit of a downhill slant. It was easier to just follow her around with the camera than to try and square her up since I was working alone. She's a lot more irritable with me now. I think she's mad at me for being away so much, and I think she's a bit uncomfortable, so that doesn't help. She was moving a little slow and careful, but she did just have her feet done, so that may have been why.

And without further wait:

Different butt shots

Front shot

Side Shots

Bag Shots - These were tricky to get this time. She did not want me or my camera near her...uh..."milk makers." That's unusual for her, but like I said, she's more irritable right now. I can't tell if there's any difference from the last bag shots. They almost seem smaller...but I guess in the cold weather I'd want my female parts as close to me as I could get them, too.

Okay, and since you've endured all the serious pics, I wanted to add a few that made me laugh!

I was downhill from my girl chatting with her and she had to brace on the hill. And it's not even a big hill!

And this one I took to show how you can actually see where her chest seperates from her stomach. That's how low her belly hangs. But it just ended up being a bit of a funny pic. And I didn't realize how lopsided the belly was until AFTER I looked at the picture.

Okay, hopefully I didn't picture overload anyone! If I have, I am really really sorry!!!

Thought I would just make a new post since the last was so long. So you can see what she is eating right now. She is still not on free choice hay, but they have had hay forked to them in the mornings and evenings.

At this point I can feel her gut noises. They feel kind of like "grinding" like my stomach makes when it's not happy. And I can hear them at the same time. And then I feel other movement, something that feels different and has no noise, but I'm not sure if that's baby or her stomach doing something. Mom has been teasing that she knows what human baby kicks feel like so she's going to go brush Lily and spend some time trying to feel for an equine baby. Which is cute, because Mom does well with Lily (the bonus of having such a quiet mare!) and she LOVES babies of any type, so I can just picture her out there talking to the belly.

Her gut is making its typical noises and she's not showing any pain, so I'm starting to think it really is safe to rule out any stomach issues. I know it's not worms and like I said, her stomach sounds is noisy as always, she's not seeming to have any digestive issues or anything. Her manure looks fine. So at this point I can only think fat or pregnant and I'm starting to strongly believe she is pregnant. Just the way she's carrying, the fact that even when I'm touching her, even without the movement, her stomach seems to shift from side to side. It could be something else, but I'm out of ideas as to what else at this point. So I'm going to start a thread in the breeding section because I might as well start learning what I can now. Even if she's not preggo, it'll be useful to know. And when the vet check FINALLY gets done, I will be sure to come back to this thread to update!

If anyone wants to offer anymore input from these pictures or the others, please go for it! I still want to know what everyone thinks. Thanks!!!

Oh my! All I can say is that doesn't look like a hay belly to me. What breed is or are the possible daddy.

Good vibes to you and lovely Lily.

Thoroughbred Lady, I was able to dismiss it as a huge hay belly three weeks ago, but I've printed a picture off and taken it to school with me and it's sitting here beside me and I just can't help but think that can't be a hay belly anymore. Especially when she's not on free choice hay.

I have a post with a list of the daddies and info on my own girl in this thread. It's ono this page. But all the same, if she was bred in my care then there are only two possible daddies and they are both warmbloods. One stud is the father of a two year old gelding (who recently died) that we thought was cut in time this summer. So my little thoroughbred may be carrying a big ol' warmblood baby. I should have taken pics of the six month olds, they are huge! And if she was not bred in my care, I'm not sure who the daddy could be quite yet.

All the same, thanks for the good vibes! Maybe if you can make it out to visit this upcoming summer you'll have a little one to meet.
