Lopintoo that is what I've been told, so I'm crossing my fingers!
That sounds about right, plus sedation........

I guess if you get it done down in Oakridge, that nice high tech vet clinic in OK it is a little cheaper, but gas it what would make it about the same.. So KS clinic here we come.

Got the appointment set for tomarrow, wed. @ 11:30. If I can I will take pics for anythat is interested, but they will be crappy cell pics.

Well, good luck.......It really is not all that interesting, they just scrub up his hocks, place a needle in there and inject the acid with te depo...........Voila! Done! It takes longer to scrub him than the injections......

Update

Got my boy in today, Looking forward to see results in the next week/seven days.

We have a race next weekend, and he should be feeling his best.

He had no joint fluid on the right side of his right hock, when the needle was injected all the came out was blood, it is supposed to be a clear liquid. The others weren't as bad, he was able to pull some clear liquid out of the other side of the right hock, still had a mix of blood in it. The left was much better-mostly clear with a slight to bascially no blood in them, turns out it was his right that was horrible.

My poor man almost feel over once he was all drugged up and sleepy, atlest he was a good boy and he got lots a treat when we got home.

He is going to be feeling so much better now.

He will feel 100% better if he had dry joints and then the fluid that he did have had poor viscosity........You will notice an improvement right away.....

Yepp, totally worth the money, he has already stopped dragging his hind feet, and moves around so much smoother in the pasture alone.

Can't wait to ride next week!

Chasn,

Just came across this thread. I've recently been dealing alot with injections, with my good horse having bone spurs, and my barn owners horse having some navicular issues.

Just wondering how you ended up and your opinion now that you've been through the process?

I'm not ChasnCans, but I'll share my experience. I had my gelding injected at 18, he had basically no synovial fluid left in his hocks. I had his stifles and his hocks injected as he flexed horribly on both. He was starting to be uneven when ridden (dressage) and that's what led us to check out his hocks. I rode him four days after the injections and the difference in him was *amazing*. He felt like a 10 year old again. He was also bright eyed and perkier. The decline in his joints had happened so gradually I hadn't noticed the change in his expression, but the after injections compared to the before was unmistakable. His injections "lasted" at least a year. He has since been retired and I haven't ridden him or had him injected again.
