Can horses eat kline hay. There is no coastal hay right now in my area and only kline hay. The bale is really good looking. The man fertilizes the grass and his horses eat it with no problems. He has his cattle on it as well. My vet says no but right now I can't get anything else.

That's a grass I've never heard of. This is what I found on Klein Grass/Hay:
Good for cattle, not good for horses, sheep or goats.

Article states :"The toxin appears during green growth after moisture rather than old or dormant growth". Maybe since it is given as hay and not pasture, it would be ok. Don't know if I would want to take the chance or not. Can you get hay cubes?

I would be inclined to listen to your vet. How about getting a second opinion from a different vet?
