Unhappy Please pray for this family

Yesterday a women was trampled to death by her stallion they have no clue what made the stallion do that. Her husband dragged her out of the pasture, called the ambulance... by the time they arrived she was gone.
I had met the lady and her stallion... the stallion was gentle and sweet and she had about 20 years of experience with stallions. Afterwards the husband shot the horse, I would have too. Please Please pray for the family they are taking it hard

What a tragedy.

As the horse has been killed, there's no way to determine if/what may have happened to him (physical issue) to cause him to do what he did. Not that it would change anything, but maybe give an explanation, especially if he had previously been gentle.

So sad for the family.

How horrible- I belive my DH would have done the same thing- I mean if you look at it ffrom his stand point A: his wife is now gone - B: this animal KILLED a human being- I doubt anyone would take it.. Its a liability- SO IMO he did the right thing-

Prayers for Him and his family .

Never turn your back on a colt or stallion. I have said over and over. Even the best handlers know something like this can happen. He is a male with hormones and it is the worst tragedy that she could not be saved. She obviously felt safe to be alone with him or someone with that much experience would not have done so. I will certainly ask everyone including myself to pray for her family. I can only imagine her final moments and thoughts.

How tragic, for her, and her husband.
My hubby would have done the same thing.
Horses are horses and stallions can be dangerous, No telling what triggerd him to do that.
Prayers for the family.

That is very sad, what a horrible tragic accident. Is it common for people to enter a stallions pasture alone?

Horses can be so dangerous and just strong. Last year a horse transport woman with over 30 yr of experience was killed unloading a horse bus. They usually work in a 2 team but she was unloading alone. Unlatched a stall side to swing out and the yearling! must have hit it and the swing panel crushed her.

Stallions are stallions. They are 100% unpredictible because they tend to think with their hormones and not their brains. If I was injured or killed by one of stallions, I'd hope to hell my hubby wouldn't do something so drastic. Poor horse. For all they know, he could have been bitten by something and simply struck out.
I feel badly for the family. It's a terrible thing to lose a loved one.
I am now going to make sure my family knows that in case of injury to me, not to ever destroy one of my horses unless they can guarantee the horse genuinely meant to harm me.

I know you mean well but, after she got killed, they were his horses.

I wouldn't have held an inquest to determine if the glove fit either, I'd have shot the horse too.

We'll keep them in our prayers.
