Hurricane Gustav

I will breath a sigh of relief when this storm passes SW Fla.

Please, everyone from the Fl panhandle to Tx prepare NOW. This looks like another Katrina storm and of course, the track can change.

There are 2 more 'areas of interest' out there ..........

Good luck to all the Floridians! I hope all of you guys fare well this Hurricane Season. My parents have a home on the coast of SC and I know hurricane season is a time for holding your breath!

State Farm is requiring all our offices to prepare now for it and my husband works for the ambulance company who has a contract with FEMA. He said he is already sick of hearing about the storm. How nice would it be for the storm to turn around and head back out. Of course it won't happen, so we are now preparing. Everyone please be safe and get out if they say to go.

NW/Central Fla is back in the cone. Each update is different.

I just saw the new prediction! and I'm in the loop! yikes. I'm sick of preparing but it must be done. We thought Fay was going to be bad, luckily we got the west side of the storm and it misted on Sat. and we had the sun shining on Sun. (the supposedly worst day we would have) Who knew.

What horrible timing for Gustav to be headed our way right on the anniversary of Katrina. I hope everyone has taken precautions and is ready to do what needs to be done to ride this one out safely.

My mom is a Red Cross volunteer (she did insurance evaluations after K) and we support the RC with our time and our money.

Keep a weather eye out, folks. It could get ugly.

My parents are in Cancun right now
I saw the storm prediction and it looks like Cancun might be in the path, hopefully it doesn't strengthen any! I sure hope it doesn't do any damage in the states most of all.

Dang it all anyway. Maybe it'll just fizzle out...LOL. I know, fat chance. What a time to own a doublewide. *sigh* It was mobile once, I hope it doesn't get that way again. Big prayers for the safety of all my HT brothers & sisters and their families (yes, that includes those critters too!!)

Barnbum2106,
We have family in your area (in the air force) and they are expecting to be told whether or not to evacuate sometime today or tomorrow.

Don't wait, prepare to leave now.

Good luck to all in the path of this storm.
